An incredible amount of progress has been made in the expansion of the Hope Center campus since GBHT launched its Capital Campaign in April, 2025. By July of 2025, enough funds had been raised to pour the concrete floor for the new Event Hall. This installation was critical to allowing the conduction of the medical camp at the Hope Center in August.
When Sonny and Katie arrived in the U.S. in early November, 2025, enough additional funds had been raised to pour the concrete first floor for the six-classroom school building that was the next step in the construction process. The next school session was scheduled to begin in January, 2026, and 130 preschool students were already registered. But aside from the two temporary classrooms built on one end of the Event Hall floor, there were no classrooms to provide for them.

We began to pray earnestly that God would provide enough funds to at least complete the first floor of the new building by January, 2026. Completing the first floor would provide three additional classrooms. Sonny and Katie began visiting churches and conducting meetings with individual donors. The donations began to stream in. By Thanksgiving, enough money had been received to complete the first floor and pour the concrete second floor. We thought we might need to stop at that point, but we at least had three permanent classrooms in addition to the two temporary rooms.
But donations continued to pour in. By mid-December, we were able to green-light completion of the second floor, giving us a new, six-classroom school building at the Hope Center! By mid-December, a total of 35 donors had donated a total of $71,921 towards the GBHT Capital Campaign, with a total pledged amount of $80,521. This puts us slightly over the half-way mark towards our campaign goal of $160,000. At just the right time, the money required to take the next necessary steps has been received!
We are currently in the process of working towards completing the Event Hall, which will provide a much-needed, multi-purpose room for our school-break holiday camps, large-group gatherings for our preschool every day, community worship events, community service events, and other programming. We have no doubt that, when the completed Event Hall is needed, the funds will be donated to make it happen. For now, we simply want to express our gratitude and thanks to the 35 donors to the Capital Campaign who responded to God’s call to participate in this kingdom adventure! We pray that you will be blessed for your obedience in responding.
