We are excited to report that fourteen donors have pledged a total of $39,550 to the Hope Center Capital Campaign, and of the amount pledged a total of $18,900 has been received! Pledges made now total 24.71% of our goal of $160,000. When we began developing the Hope Center property, our original two buildings including the two buildings in blue on the far left side of this photo:
Since purchasing the original two buildings that comprised the Hope Center, GBHT purchased the building located to the right of the upper Hope Center building, tore it down, and constructed a permanent kitchen (completed in early 2024). Since then, seven additional surrounding plots of land have been purchased. GBHT is now positioned to substantially expand its campus. Because of the need for at least a concrete floor in our own space for conduction of holiday camps, in March, 2025, GBHT acted in faith and spent approximately $14,000 to pour the slab for the eventual Event Hall (shown in the below photo).
With the Event Hall floor in place, GBHT was able to place three, 200-person capacity rented tents on the slab for our April, 2025, holiday camp. GBHT then hosted its first ever medical camp at the Hope Center in August, 2025, with the slab again supporting tents to create space for the medical camp. In the above photo, you can see several hundred of the children that we serve during holiday camp gathered for a worship session on the new Event Hall floor. Though we stepped out in faith to construct the slab, we now have received more than enough donations to the Capital Campaign to help our general fund recover from that stretching expenditure. We have just recently started pouring the foundation and floor for our first classroom building (seen below) – again acting in faith that the funds for this next step will be raised.
The complete development of our newly-purchased land at the Hope Center will be transformative to GBHT’s ability to serve Kibagare’s children and families well into the future – and in many ways!
